Best Time Table for CA Students - Best Study Time, Diet, Routine, Exercise, Study Plan
by your CA Inter & CA Final Audit Mentor, Neeraj Arora
If you’ve ever felt confused about when to study, how to study, or what small lifestyle changes can supercharge your focus, this guide is for you.
Golden Rule: Fix Your Sleep and Wake Times
Before you think about fancy timetables or complex plans, ask yourself:
Are my sleep and wake times fixed?
Whether you’re a morning person or a night owl, your sleeping and waking time should have a margin of just 15-20 minutes. For example, sleep at 10 pm or 10:15 pm, and wake at 6 am or 6:15 am. Once this is sorted, you’re already halfway there. This is true not just for exams but for life in general!
Identify Your Peak Study Time
Forget what rank holders say about studying only in the morning or night. The real question is: When do you produce your best output?
If your focus is stronger at night, study at night. If mornings energize you, stick to mornings. The key is consistency in that slot.
The Power Morning Routine
Here’s a simple, effective morning ritual:
Brush your teeth immediately after waking up. It’s proven to positively impact overall health, even cardiovascular health.
Chew 2 cloves of raw garlic (if it suits your diet). Wait at least 10 minutes before eating anything else. Trust me, this one habit will support your focus in surprising ways.
Meditate for 5-10 minutes. It clears the clutter in your head and sets you up for a productive session.
Optional: A quick 10-20 minute walk if you feel sluggish.
First Deep Work Session
Your first study session should be your gold-level session:
Aim for 3-4 hours of deep work without distractions.
Sip on green tea or black coffee (instead of sugar-loaded milk tea) if you like.
Munch on almonds, pistachios, or cashews (keep cashews minimal).
Break the Right Way
After your deep session:
Stretch — try Glute Bridges, Cat-Cow pose, Cobra pose. This protects your spine and shoulders.
Spend time with family or listen to music.
Stay away from social media — not even 1% distraction!
Take a proper meal or snack.
Repeat and Win
Your target: 3 deep work sessions per day, 3-4 hours each.
Even if you manage 9-10 productive hours a day, you are on your path to success.
Subject Planning
Focus on 1-2 subjects per day if revising. Smashing one subject fully is also okay.
The goal is depth and focus, not juggling too many things.
Nutrition + Supplements (Optional)
Include sprouts, rajma, or quality protein in your diet.
If you can afford it, consider Omega-3, magnesium glycinate (for sleep), or a good vegetarian protein powder — but always consult your doctor.
Check your Vitamin D and B12 levels; most Indians are deficient.
Don’t Skip Rest
Sleep 6-7 hours minimum.
Power naps of 20-25 minutes can recharge you like magic. Set an alarm, nap, wake fresh, and go again!
Every 6-6.5 days, take half-day or full-day breaks. Go out, relax, do anything except studies. You deserve it.
